Keith T. Oka, a professional advertiser, was born in Okayama, Japan on January 15, 1916. He graduated from Seattle Broadway High School in 1935 and continued onto Edison Vocational in Seattle where he graduated in 1937 with an A.A. degree. He married Nobuko (Nobi) Koba in 1943. He has worked in Seattle and Spokane as an Art Director for Craftsman Press, Virgil A. Warren and Showacres, Coons, Shotwell, Adams Advertising Agency until his retirement in 1976. He has received many awards locally and nationally throughout his career, including being recognized as ad man of the year in 1968. He was a member of Kiwanis, JACL, YMCA and the founding and life member of Spokane Water Color Society. He passed away in 2006 in Spokane.
