Kenneth L. Maddy graduated from Fresno State College (now California State University, Fresno) in 1957. He served in the California Legislature from 1970 to 1998, where he compiled a distinguished record of public service. In recognition of this, the State Senate passed SB733 in 1999, establishing the Kenneth L. Maddy Institute for Public Policy at California State University, Fresno. The mission of the Institute is to provide training for students who aspire to leadership roles in government and to help to prepare students and elected officials for public service.
