Established in 1926 to coordinate the needs of local schools with the services offered by the docents, the Education Office grew to encompass the Junior Museum, Arts Workshop, and Educational Loans departments. The director and education assistant were responsible for arranging tours for school groups, providing lectures for the general public, scheduling docent tours, organizing courses for teachers and special groups, and planning extension talks to community groups.
