The School of the Arts and Architecture was formed in 1995 when the Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning joined the School of the Arts. Prior to the formation of the School of the Arts and Architecture, many of UCLA's academic departments in the arts were administered by: College of Applied Arts (1939-1960), College of Fine Arts (1960-1990), and School of the Arts (1990-1995).
