Foster, John O. (John Onesimus), 1833-1920
Variant namesFoster's family moved to Iowa in 1840. He attended the Iowa Conference Seminary in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. After graduation he served the ministries of the Rock River Conference (Illinois) before leaving for the Civil War battlefields with the 24th Army Corps. In 1865 he returned to his Illinois church and retired to New York in 1895.
