Born (1925) in Spokane, Washington. Graduated from Lewis and Clark High School. Entered the service on November 15, 1943 and received his basic training at Fort Benning, Georgia. Volunteered for service with the 10th Mountain Division and arrived at Camp Hale in January, 1944. Assigned to the 110th Mountain Signal Company. Following his discharge, enrolled at Washington State University and graduated in 1950. Retired in 1987 following 35 years in the insurance industry. Active with the National Association of the 10th Mountain Division. Served as president of the Northwest Chapter, chaired the 1995 Sun Valley reunion and served as president of the National Association. Married Jean Murray Carmichael and has two sons and two step sons.
