Saxon Barnes was born on July 26, 1902. He was the fourth child of Wald and Elizabeth Barnes and a brother of Djuna Barnes. Mr. Barnes was a successful banker, working at Citibank for thirty-six years. While at Citibank, his accomplishments included securing important accounts from companies such as Shell Oil. He also became Vice President of the bank's Rockefeller Center branch. Mr. Barnes retired in the mid-1960s to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with his wife Eleanor. An avid golfer and amateur sculptor, he died in January 1991.
