Biography

Sarah Stifler is a scholar of art history with particular interests in contemporary art, gender and sexuality. In 1994, she received her Bachelor's degree in Art History at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and in 2000, she received her Master's degree in Art History at the University of Southern California (USC.) From 1997 to 2002, she pursued a Doctorate degree at USC, where she concentrated on lesbian and feminist art in Los Angeles from the 1970s to 2000.

She has worked as a research assistant at the Getty Research Institute in Los Angeles, a teaching assistant at the Department of Art History at USC, a marketing coordinator at the Timothy Yarger Fine Art Gallery, and a public arts advisor for the Boulder City Arts Council. As of July 2007, Stifler continues to work at the Getty Research Institute and lives in West Hollywood, California.
