No further information is available on students Luck, Earl, or Grayson. Maybee was born in Ypsilanti (Mich.) on Jan. 6, 1901. He earned his A.B., M.A., and Ph. D. degrees in history from Western Michigan and Columbia universities. In 1922 Maybee came to CMU, where he was promoted to professor in 1942. He served as chairman of the Dept. of Social Studies, 1947-1960. Maybee married Myrtle Maybee, with whom he had a son, Richard. Prof. Maybee died on June 10, 1976 in Fla. (Information from his obituary, 1976). The Clarke Historical Library has his papers, books, and a number of papers by his students.
