Evangelistic organization; founded in 1950 to operate Billy Graham's ministry in a business-like way, provide a non-profit entity to receive donations for crusades and related ministries, plan and coordinate evangelistic meetings throughout the world, stimulate the study and practice of evangelism, and with its agents and subsidiaries produce radio and television programs, films, DECISION magazine, and books and records. It's headquarters was in Minneapolis, with offices in other US and foreign cities. DECISION was started by the BGEA (1960) under the editorship of Sherwood Wirt (1960-1976), who was follwed by Roger Palms. The magazine covered BGEA crusades and other events, and included Bible studies and stories of a devotional nature. Circulation was usually over one million. DECISION was also published in other languages. The magazine sponsored a School of Christian Writing (1963-1987), a multi-day seminar for beginning writers in the US and other countries on how to write for and sell to Christian publications.
