Baldwin, Jabez C., 1777-1819.
Jabez C. Baldwin was a jeweler and silversmith. Born in Norwich, Ct., he settled in Salem, Ma. and married Anna Briggs. He had a number of apprentices that boarded with his family, including George Baker. In 1813, he established the firm of Baldwin & Jones in Boston while continuing his ventures in Salem. In 1817, Baldwin entered into partnership with Thomas Baker. When Baker moved to Concord, N.H. in 1819 the partnership ended. Baldwin died later that year on Nov. 8.
