Isaac Jarratt was a soldier in the War of 1812, landholder, merchant, and slave trader in Montgomery, Ala., and Huntsville, N.C. His son, Isaac Augustus Jarratt (1841-1890), of Huntsville, Conrads, and Fayetteville, N.C., was a planter, merchant, and distiller. The younger Jarratt received an A.B. from the University of North Carolina in 1861 and served as a captain in Company C, 26th North Carolina Infantry Regiment, during the Civil War.

Isaac Jarratt (fl. 1812-1875) was a soldier in the War of 1812, landholder, merchant, and partner with Tyre Glen (d. 1875) in the slave trade between Alabama and North Carolina from 1830 to 1835. During this period, he apparently lived in Montgomery, Ala., where he was apparently established in various businesses, but his primary residence was in Huntsville, N.C. His son, Isaac Augustus Jarratt (1841-1890), of Huntsville, Conrads, and Fayetteville, N.C., was a planter, merchant, and distiller. The younger Jarratt received an A.B. from the University of North Carolina in 1861 and served as a captain in Company C, 26th North Carolina Infantry Regiment of the Confederate Army, during the Civil War.
