Tothill, David, 1936-

South African diplomat and historian. In 1959 Tothill joined the South African Dept. of Foreign Affairs, working at the Head Office in Pretoria and serving on various missions to the United Nations, before becoming Ambassador to Argentina, 1980-84, and Australia, 1988-92. He was a Harold White Fellow in 1998.
