Owen Jones, also known as Owain Myfyr

Owen Jones, 1741-1814, was a native of Llanfihangel Glyn Myfyr, Denbighshire, who moved to live to London. He was a Quaker and a successful businessman. The promotion of Welsh literary life was one of his greatest interests. He was a member of the Cymmrodorion Society and a co-founder, with Robin Ddu, of the Gwyneddigion Society.

Dafydd ap Gwilym was one of the great poets of 14th century Wales.
