George Cornwell (1866-1909); pastor in Pound Ridge, N.Y.; missionary of the Board of Foreign Missions, Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A., to East Shantung Mission in Chefoo (Yantai), China as supervisor of the Anglo-Chinese School and Night School; he also conducted religious services for the employees of the Silk Factory. George Cornwell also travelled with a Chinese elder to Vladisvostock in 1908 to investigate the existance of Chinese Christians with no church provision.

Mary Mead Cornwell (1868-1909); born Yorktown, N.Y.; married George Cornwell 1891; posted with him to Chefoo (Yantai), China in 1892 and assisted in the supervision of the school. The Cornwells both died of cholera in 1909 leaving seven children.
