In 1877, Adin Baber established A. Baber and Company, a livestock commission firm with an office at the Union Stock Yards in Indianapolis, Indiana. After his death on February 10, 1902, the name of the company was changed to Baber and Company and Adin's son, Dexter, became president of the firm.
