Gregory J. Hobbs is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley, Calif. (J.D. 1971). He practiced law for 25 years, with an emphasis on water, environment, land use, and transportation, before being appointed by Governor Roy Romer to the Colorado Supreme Court on April 18, 1996. Hobbs is involved with many professional and civic organizations and is also the author of a number of works: Colorado mother of rivers (2003); In praise of fair Colorado, the practice of poetry (2004); History and judging (2004); Water poems (2005); as well as numerous articles on water law, history, and culture.
