Bernard Asbell was an Associate Professor of English at the Pennsylvania State University teaching nonfiction writing from 1984 until his retirement in 1992. He was the author of twelve books, most notably The pill: a biography of the drug that changed the world (1995) and Paterno: by the book (1991).
