Sarah Brown, daughter of John and Meriah/Mariah Brown, was born in Dover, Mass., October 21, 1787. Other children of John and Meriah/Mariah: John (born 1785; married Cynthia Fuller); Michael (born 1791); Mason (born 1794; married Kezia Perry, later married Sarah Newell); Betsey (born 1797; married Roger S. Battle); Rebecca (born 1798; married Joshua Ayres). Sarah married Joseph Smith (born 1784) of Westminster, Mass. They moved to Concord, Mass., to a farm on what is now Strawberry Hill Road. Their children: Ann Jane (born 1816, in Dover; remainder of children born in Concord); Joseph Allen (born 1818; married Rebecca Brooks of Acton); Sarah Elizabeth (born 1821; married Joseph Kidder of Manchester, N.H.); Julius Michael (born 1823; married Martha Wheeler of Concord, later married Abba Wheeler); Caroline Rebecca (born 1825; married Albert Higgins of Concord); Maria Turner (born 1828; married Charles A. Holbrook of Concord). Sarah Brown Smith was the grandmother of Maria Rebecca Smith, who was the mother of Laurence Eaton Richardson.
