Members of the Coon family included Gardner (ca. 1808-fl. 1870) and his wife Damaris Coon (ca. 1808-fl. 1870), farmers in Portville, New York, who eventually moved to Walworth, Wisconsin; David (ca. 1811-fl. 1870) and his wife Hannah Coon (ca. 1813-fl. 1870), farmers in Walworth, Wisconsin; and David and Gardner's brother, E. B. Coon (fl. 1848) of Portville, New York.
