Virginia. Dept. of Law. Division of Motion Picture Censorship.
In 1927 the General Assembly passed an act that created the Dept. of Law and the attorney general was designated as its head. The Dept. of Law was responsible for motion picture censorship until 1966, when the Division of Motion Picture Censorship was abolished.
