Father Paul James Francis Wattson (1863-1940) and Mother Lurana White (1870-1935) co-founded the Society of the Atonement in 1898 under the auspices of the Episcopal Church; in 1909 the Society joined the Roman Catholic Church. Father Wattson's given name was Lewis T. Wattson.
