Club (Smith College)

Hide Profile

The Club was founded in 1907 by the male professors of Smith College to promote good fellowship and to attain a gemütliche Weltanschauung. By the 1970s women were included in this small dining group who met periodically for dinner and discussion of a specific topic. Also was sometimes referred to (by those outside the group) as The Men's Club or The President's Club and later (in the mid-1970s) as The Monday Club. The Club became inactive in 1985(?).
