Eaton, Alvah Augustus, 1865-1908.
Eaton taught and farmed in both Massachusetts and California until poor health led him to become a florist. From 1902 until his death he was employed at the Ames Botanical Laboratory. He took work related field trips to Florida andd Europe during this period. Eaton's botanical research was focused on non-vascular cryptogams, grasses and orchids.
