Henderson, James Patterson.

James Patterson Henderson was a physician who lived most of his professional life in Richland County, Ohio. He attended Jefferson College (now Washington and Jefferson) in Washington, Pa., graduating in 1825. He then studied under a physician in Cookstown, Pa. before settling in Newville, Ohio, where he set up a medical practice. He served as a surgeon in the Ohio militia ca. 1830s-1850s, and was a member of various state medical societies and literary clubs. At his death, he gave a substantial sum of money and his library to Muskingum College.
