Pittman, Vail Montgomery, 1883-1969
A Mississippi native, born at Vicksburg on September 17, 1883, Vail Pittman came to Nevada in 1904 where he owned several newspapers. He was a State Senator from White Pine County, Lieutenant Governor and later Governor of Nevada. After his term as governor, Pittman moved to Las Vegas where he died at the age of eighty on January 29, 1964.
