United Lutheran Church (Grand Forks, N.D.)
The United Lutheran Church (Grand Forks, N.D.) was formed from three of the original Lutheran congregations established in the city. Zion Lutheran and Trinity Lutheran merged in 1917 to form Bethany Congregation, and in 1926 First Lutheran joined Bethany to create United Lutheran Church. The Zion Lutheran Church building was razed to make way for the new United Lutheran Church building; the cornerstone was laid in 1929. The church was dedicated May 15, 1932. The bell tower was not completed until 1941, with the dedication in November 1941.
