Sioux Falls Terminal Railroad Company.

Hide Profile

Originally incorporated in 1888 under the laws of Dakota Territory as the South Sioux Falls Railway and Rapid Transit Company, the company purposed to construct a road (ca. 20 miles) from Sioux Falls to South Sioux Falls, crossing all other railway lines and thereby forming a belt line around Sioux Falls. GN assumed corporate control in 1889 and changed the name in 1890. From 1893-1900, the line's tracks were leased to the Willmar and Sioux Falls Railway and in 1900, GN conveyed the company to the Willmar and Sioux Falls Railway.
