WBRZ-TV (Television station : Baton Rouge, La.)
Variant namesWBRZ-TV is a commercial television station serving Baton Rouge, La., and its vicinity. The station first signed on the air in 1955 as an affiliate of the National Broadcasting Company (NBC). At that time all programs were transmitted in black and white, and most were performed live. In 1966 the station was the first in Baton Rouge to broadcast in color. WBRZ changed network affiliations in 1977 when it joined the American Broadcasting Company (ABC).
