In August 1897, Roberts Walker made a trip on horseback from Flagstaff into Hopi Territories. The trip was a gift from his parents to him upon his graduation from Amherst College. Roberts Walker was appointed as head of Pueblo Lands Board by President Calvin Coolidge. Roberts Walker was accompanied on his journey by a variety of friends from across the United States including: Riordan, Hon. D.M.; Scott, Frank H., Esq.; Bancroft, E. A. Esq.; Higgins, C.
