Virginia Terrill was born on December 12, 1906, in Meta, Missouri. She lived in Texas and California prior to moving to Alaska in the years before World War II. She worked for the Public Health Service and the Alaska Native Medical Service as a medical transcriptionist before retiring in 1981. Virginia Terrill was active in local community groups including the Libertarian Party, and served as secretary of the Anchorage Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
