The University and Community College System of Nevada, formerly University of Nevada System, is governed by an elected Board of Regents, and administered by a chancellor, who is responsible for administrative leadership. The chancellor's staff includes the vice-president for academic affairs, who serves as chief academic officer for the system and is responosible for the overall development, administration, coordination, and evaluation of academic programs and policies. The vice-chancellor also participates in fiscal planning as it relates to academic programs, instructional needs, research, public service, and requests for external funds.
