Thaddeus Shaw Page (1890-1973) was born in Aberdeen, N.C., to North Carolina congressman Robert Newton Page and Flora Eliza Shaw Page. He was educated at Fishburne Military Academy and the University of North Carolina. Page was secretary to his father in Congress, 1913-1916; an automobile dealer in Aberdeen, Hamlet, and Charlotte, N.C., 1916-1930; secretary to North Carolina Senator Josiah W. Bailey, 1930-1935; assistant to Archivist of the United States R. D. W. Connor, 1935-1943; and administrator at the National Archives, 1943-1960.
