Faith Lutheran Church of Kamiah became a congregation by the Grace of God and through the efforts of the son of a Missouri Synod Lutheran Pastor, C. J. Krueger, of Trinity Lutheran Church of Grangeville, Idaho. His son, Paul, a high school student who intended to become a minister himself, walked the streets of Kamiah knocking on doors and went looking for Lutherans wanting services to be held in Kamiah.
In the fall of 1951, Rev. Krueger began to hold services in the present Grange Hall. He made the trip from Grangeville and served this congregation. After two years, due to a heart condition, he released this congregation to join with the Evangelical Lutheran Synod under Rev. Richard Waag of Nezperce. Rev. Waag and a few members of the Nezperce Lutheran congregation helped greatly in the construction of the church.
In 1980 this congregation joined together in a 4-point parish with the Nezperce, Gifford, and Orofino congregations.
