Hawthorne, Mary Elizabeth, 1916-
Variant namesMary Hawthorne, professor of biology and officer in the WAVES and Naval Reserve, was born in Providence, RI. She attended the University of Rhode Island, and received an M.A. from Penn State and a Ph. D. from Michigan State. She served in the WAVES during World War II and again during the Vietnam War.
