Born at Fjotland, Norway, emigrated in 1893 to Rugby, N.D. Store manager in Bowbells, N.D. and Coteau, N.D.; New York Insurance Co. agent 1920-1929; elected to N.D. House of Representatives 1909, 1913-1917. Lobbyist for lignite coal companies until 1933 in North Dakota legislature, associated with Truax Traer Coal Co.; married Anna Martine Thompson, later married Adeline Wige in 1943. Died in Grand Forks, N.D. Buried at Coteau, N.D.
