Middletown Preparative Meeting (Society of Friends : 1699-1827 : Delaware County, Pa.)

Middletown Preparative Meeting (Delaware County, Pa.) was established in 12mo 1698/9. In 1827, after the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. The Orthodox preparative meeting was transferred to Middletown Monthly Meeting (Delaware County, Pa.) in 1931 and was discontinued in 1950, when its membership became identical with that of its parent monthly meeting. Middletown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was transferred to Providence Monthly Meeting in 1934. This preparative meeting is currently active.
