De Young, Chris A. (Chris Anthony), 1898-1971
Variant namesChris A De Young was a 1920 graduate of Hope College. During the early 1920s (as a missionary for the Reformed Church of America) he traveled to Madanapalle, India, where he was both school principal and Boy Scout Commissioner. De Young received his Ph. D. from Northwestern University and became an internationally known educator and author. He wrote two widely used textbooks and over a hundred articles.
