Darwin Andrews was a horticulturist and the owner of Rockmont Nursery from approximately 1899-1937. Rockmont Nursery was located in Boulder on the corner of 23rd Street and Bluebell. Andrews specialized in collecting and cultivating native plants from the Rocky Mountain region. He ran a world-wide mail order business selling native plants and wildflower seeds.

Darwin Andrews was married to Mary Wheeler Andrews. Mary Wheeler was the daughter of Samuel R. Wheeler and Sophia Wheeler. Darwin and Mary Andrews had three children: Hazel Andrews, Phillip Andrews and Mildred Andrews. Mildred Andrews married Walter Steele and their children are Richard and Leota Steele. Leota's three children are Mona, Michael and Carmen Pearson. Richard Steele married Mary Watson and their children are Darwin Steele, Gisele Steele, Valerie Steele and Fay Steele.
