Garnett, Robert S. (Robert Selden), 1819-1861
Variant namesRobert Selden Garnett (1819-1861), served in the Mexican War, in Texas, and as commandant of cadets at West Point. In 1855, he was commissioned Major and sent to the Northwest where he commanded the Puget Sound and Yakima Expeditions. He resigned and joined the Confederate Army.
