Virginia "Gin" Drury (1907-1991), a native of Winthrop, Massachusetts, graduated from Jackson College in 1930 with a degree in French. As a student Drury was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi fraternity and participated in many campus groups such as Field Hockey, French Club and Sociology Club. On June 28, 1931 Drury married Richard Clark Shipman '31 in a ceremony at Tufts College. The Shipmans lived in Lewistown, Montana, where they raised at least one son. Over the years Drury maintained her ties with Tufts making several donations to the college. Drury died in March 1991.
