The College of Social Sciences was organized from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 1965. Under its auspices Social Science 100, which later became American Heritage. The college was into the new College of Family, Home and Social Sciences in 1980.

The College of Social Science was organized from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 1965. The college was primarily responsible for the administration of academic departments and research centers. It also managed the teaching of Social Science 100, which later became American Heritage. The college was later merged with the College of Family Living in 1981 to form the College of Family, Home, and Social Sciences.
