Dr. B.Y. Card received his B.Sc. (1942) and B.Ed. (1947) from the University of Alberta and his Ph.D. from Stanford University (1959). He began his teaching career at the University of Alberta in 1945 and joined the Faculty of Education in 1950. At his retirement in 1980 he had become Professor of sociology of education. Major interests include community development and native/Métis culture.
