Fred Trezise was a student at Harvard University. Danny Gardella played for the New York Giants (1944-1945) and the St. Louis Cardinals (1950). He was supended for playing in the Mexican League while reserved by the New York Giants in 1946. Gardella sued baseball for impinging on his right to earn a living as a baseball player. In 1949, Commissioner of Baseball Happy Chandler gave amnesty to all players who had violated their reserve clause agreements; the owners of baseball quietly settled with Gardella.
