Guy Selwin Allison was born near Frankford, Pike County, Missouri on December 24, 1883, was educated in the public schools of Kirksville, moved West in 1906, matriculated to the State Normal School in Bellingham, graduating in 1907. While a student he excelled at Interscholastic Debate, and was editor of the school journal, The Messenger. Upon graduation he began teaching, served also as school principal, received his Life Diploma in 1922, and later became a newspaper columnist.
