Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church (Beaverton, Or.)
On June 1, 1973, Rev. E. David Spencer and family arrived in Beaverton from Utica, Michigan. The first worship service, held at Somerset West Covenant Church, was on September 9, 1973, with formal organization taking place on February 27, 1974. Groundbreaking for the new building was held October 6, 1974, with the first worship service, taking place there on June 1, 1975. The church is designed for multi-purpose activities and services, housing the Headstart program of Washington County and providing facilities for the Tri-County Respite Care Center, Scouts and Aerobic classes.
