United States District Court for the District of Louisiana
Following the creation of the first American court in Louisiana in 1804 for the Territory of Orleans, the United States District Court for the District of Louisiana was created weeks before the state was admitted to the Union in 1812. The federal court has been subdivided and reorganized several times in its history.
