Society of the Lees of Virginia.
The society was established in 1921 by Cazenove Gardner Lee, Jr. and other members of the Lee family to recognize the contributions of the family to American history, to preserve and restore historic sites of family interest, prepare genealogies, and hold reunions. The membership comprises descendants of Col. Richard Lee who settled York County, Virginia, by 1642. Recent records were collected by Eleanor Lee Reading Templeman.
