Maurice C. Peters was born in 1906 in Parsons, Kansas. In 1931 he was employed by the Ford Motor Company as a traveling representative for the Kansas City (Missouri) Branch. After serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II, Peters became a sales representative for the company in Salt Lake City, Utah. Responsible to the district manager, his territory included Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, and Montana. A year later, in 1946, he was named an assistant district manager for the western region. In February of 1952, Peters resigned from the company and for the next two years was a Ford dealer in Nampa, Idaho.
