Kollock family.
Cornelius Kollock (1824-1897), of Cheraw, S.C. was a physician who served with the Medical Department of the Confederate States Army as a civilian volunteer. He married Mary Henrietta Shaw of Boston, Mass. in 1851. His son, Charles W. Kollock (b. 1857), also a physician, began private practice in Charleston, S.C. in 1885. S.C. Governor McSweeney appointed Charles W. Kollock special aide with the rank of colonel on the staff of President Theodore Roosevelt during Roosevelt's visit to the S.C. Inter-state and West-Indian Exposition in 1902. Kollock was a lieutenant in the Charleston Light Dragoons from 1886 to 1895 and became captain in 1902.
